Caribbean Export Development Agency and the Caribbean Development Bank have expanded their cooperation to strengthen the region’s pipeline of investment projects and improve links between Caribbean businesses and potential investors.
Under the agreement, the CDB will provide support through its PROPEL programme to help Caribbean Export engage investors around projects presented through the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF). The initiative will focus on investor readiness, targeted outreach, matchmaking and follow-up with prospective financiers.
The CIF pipeline, built since the forum began in 2022, includes about 30 projects from 11 CARIFORUM countries with a combined investment value of more than $172 million, according to Caribbean Export.
The partnership will be activated at the 2026 Caribbean Investment Forum, scheduled for Oct. 5-7 in Barbados under the theme “Invest. Innovate. Accelerate.” Eight featured projects are seeking more than $39 million in total investment in digital transformation, sustainable agriculture, the green economy, and logistics and transportation.
Caribbean Export Executive Director Damie Sinanan said the aim was to ensure investor engagement continues beyond the annual forum. CDB President Daniel M. Best said the partnership would support stronger connections between Caribbean projects and sources of private capital.
Republic Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank are platinum sponsors of CIF 2026. The IDB is also working with Caribbean Export through a three-year agreement focused on project preparation and investment development.
The eight featured projects have been vetted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and will be available for direct meetings with investors during the forum.
